WHO IS UKUMARI?
Ukumari is the name of the oso or bear that represents Apu Ausangate a human bear, A story that is depicted every year at the Quyllor Rit'i (snow star) festival the end of May, which depicts the "Ukukus" dancers dressed as bears. Groups of indigenous people climb Ausangate Mountain, in search of the Snow Star which is reputedly buried within the mountain. All of this is done for one purpose; to bring a block of ice to the Chapel. The people believe that the ice brings luck, has medical effects, and that the lands irrigated with this holy water will be very fertile. There are many more stories of this sacred mountain that the locals will share with you while we journey together!!
MEET APU AUSANGATE?
Apu (Mountain spirit) Ausangate is the fourth highest peak in Peru, beginning at the village of Pacchanta 3800m/12,464 ft. and reaching a peak of 6384m/ 20,944 ft. This Apu is a masculine mountain and has three daughters: Huana Wamantikilla, Thomasa and Maria Sakapana and the feminine Apu Hyangate is the wife of Ausangate. People who come to Ausangate from afar feel the call or have dreams of the mountain calling them, it holds an ancient Grandfather energy where you can seek guidance on your path. The mountain has a way of doctoring the physical and spiritual body. This holy mountain holds the Altomesayoq energies, the most highly respected teacher that can serve as gateways between ordinary and non-ordinary realities. Come seek guidance and profound messages from the great wisdom keeper of the Andes and be held in and supported in your healing. Come and be liberated in all aspects of your life.

You tell us the vision and intention for your pilgrimage and we create the canvas!
WHAT IS HUACHUMA?
Huachuma (Trichocereus pachanoi) is a cactus that is native to South America and one of the most ancient magic plants of the area. The San Pedro cactus contains mescaline, similar to the Peyote cactus, which effects the central nervous system by binding to the serotonin receptors in the brain. The powerful medicine can get to the root of sickness on a physical and spiritual level. The Grandfather medicine awakens all the senses and especially the sixth sense of transmitting oneself across time and matter. This heart opening medicine balances the masculine and feminine within us and brings us back to our playful child like selves. The spirit of this plant helps the subconscious to open like a flower and expand consciousness.
The pilgrimage will include one or two days with the plant spirit Huachuma in ceremony at the foot of Apu Ausangate. Depending on the weather we will slowly walk to the puma cave and connect deeper with Mother Earth while on the medicine or we will work with it deeper in the hot-springs.
